The Regional President is a key senior leadership role at WaFd Bank. The position is responsible for the development and growth of high-quality loans and low-cost deposits (directly and indirectly) within its respective geographical region; with outcomes easily demonstrated, actionable and supportive of and compliments WaFd Bank’s goals and initiatives.Reporting to the President and CEO, the Regional President also consults and works closely with the Chief Commercial Banker, and the Chief Consumer Banker.A successful Regional President must:

Inspire trust and confidence in their teamLead by example.Develop, manage and oversee all banking activities within the region that provides the maximum profitability to the Bank with minimum risk.Have excellent business development and client retention skills.Ensure high level of customer satisfaction through the delivery of excellent service across the region.Understand the banking needs of small businesses and have strong relationships with the business community.Be an excellent communicator demonstrating ability to explain and build engagement whether new program, process, or Bank initiatives.Serve as an ambassador for the bank by participating in a variety of public events, community organizations, community outreach, and speaking engagements designed to promote WaFd Bank.Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.Participate, encourage, and support skill advancement in others through coaching, mentoring, responsive feedback, and accountability.Reflect the corporate values and ethics of WaFd Bank, including integrity, teamwork, ownership, simplicity, discipline, and service. In addition, must be kind.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

The Regional President has the autonomy to lead the development and growth of WaFd Bank in the Region, within established policies. This includes direct responsibility for the Commercial, Treasury and Retail banking groups within the region. Work closely with Executive Management for guidance.Develop an annual strategic plan for the region to meet or exceed goals for revenue, performance, pipeline management, production, and consistency in the client experience. Effectively communicate strategy and progress quarterly with CEO.Engage in active client management by knowing, understanding, and developing a working relationship with the top clients (Commercial and Retail) within the region; be fully engaged with these significant clients.Develop and implement an active sales management program by conducting pipeline meetings; reviewing forecasting loans to close 30, 60, 90 days with direct reports; develop and implement an active calling plan. Review plans and forecast monthly with President and CEO.Play an active role in the quality of the region’s loan portfolio. Review “past dues”, changes, charge offs and matured loans.Be familiar with the Bank’s loan policies, regulatory and compliance requirements; ensure region is meeting the Bank’s compliance standards, including Bank Secrecy Act.Adhere to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC regulations.Provide leadership for the region; create a “one bank, one team” approach by creating a local structure by pulling together CRE, BB and Retail; provide a clear and consistent vision; solves problems and removes roadblocks.Actively involved in the community in a leadership capacity.Support and participate in the Bank’s CRA efforts and meets established market goals.Oversee the region’s staffing needs; empowered to take action if changes are needed; familiar with e-learning and reviews past due training with DM’s; develops succession planning and cross training for key positions within the region; partners with Corporate HR.Has authority to approve and effectively manage regional expenses (with a primary focus on compensation expense) in alignment with Bank’s strategic plan.Lead the marketing efforts in the region to include management of an approved budget to maximize return on investments made. Develops a strong working relationship with Corporate Marketing.Accountable to performance metrics and measurements for the region that are based on the key performance indicators (KPI’s) which are set with CEO.Complete and pass all assigned eLearning courses and certifications as required.Avoid all real or perceived conflicts of interest and always maintain client privacy and confidentiality.Perform other job duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.Must be a self-starter and production-oriented with demonstrated superior administrative skills, as well as motivational and training ability to develop commercial loan production and growth.Strong understanding of financial products, services, and regulations.Must be knowledgeable in lending practices; background in business and/or financial analysis, with a solid grasp of fundamentals for evaluating business opportunity and profitability.Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.Demonstrated ability to manage risk and ensure compliance in a highly regulated industry.Benefits:
