We are looking for a Model-based Capability Group (MBE CG) Engineering Manager in the Electronic Systems (ES) sector. The candidate is responsible for all aspects of a MBE CG team's performance in support of US Defense business areas and MBE initiatives, including the application of model-based engineering processes, tools, talent acquisition, talent development, and program performance. You will be responsible for a small borderless team, leading them through a digital transformation that embraces model-based engineering and aligns with the ES engineering organization. Your time will be split between supporting your team as the manager and contributor on MBE programs or initiatives.
As MBE CG Section Leader, you will:
Collaborate with business area peer managers to staff program and IRADs with team members of the MBE CG
Identify and develop critical model-based engineering skills required to support the MBE CG objectives
Develop strategies for improving and optimizing organizational performance
Develop and lead continuous improvement activities and ensure adoption within the organization
Embrace company ethical culture and advance diversity, equality and inclusion throughout the organization
Understand industry trends and best practices to ensure BAE Systems develops and maintains the MBE capabilities required to provide technical discriminators
As a MBSE contributor, you will:
3+ Years building models using MBSE methodologies, best practices and tools
8+ years practicing Systems Engineering
Solid understanding of UML and/or SysML
Solid experience using MagicDraw, Cameo
Created validation rules and specialized searches in the model database
Demonstrate ability to analyze problems through MBSE model
Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree and 12+ year(s) related experience
Demonstrated leadership experience
Development of DoD products utilizing the BAE Systems product lifecycle
Model-based engineering architectural model development or leadership of teams developing model-based architectural models
Strong understanding and experience with Systems Engineering processes
Demonstrated experience with strategy development and execution
Ability to negotiate effectively with higher level managers, functional managers, customers, industry partners, and teammates
Strong mentoring skills to collaboratively develop performance and development objectives
As a contributor, architectural model development in UML and/or SysML using tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Previous experience as a Functional Manager desired but not required
Experience in modeling and simulation
Working models to a Government Reference Architecture
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
