Enterprise Data Architect
Remote – Midwest
Job Summary:Apply with CSS to join our dynamic team! Seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to define and implement our enterprise data architecture strategy and principals, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, and security requirements.
Essential Job Functions:Design and provide strategic direction with roadmaps across the organization relative to Enterprise Data ArchitectureInterface with the C-Suite, building trust and relationshipsBuild a data strategy from the top down related to governance and strategy, including policies and standards, structureCreate a strategy around system of record and single source of truthHelp to establish a data-driven business, working with reliable and real-time data
Education/Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field; 10 years of proven experience as an EA or a similar role in an enterprise-class environment OR a combination of education and experience that enables the candidate to fulfill the responsibilities of the positionProgressive growth of role and increased responsibility throughout careerDeep technical knowledge in areas such as cloud, virtualization, client/server, service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment, software development, data, networking, middleware, storage, data management, infrastructure, and emerging technologiesExcellent understanding of business strategy and the ability to align technology solutions accordinglyExperience producing and driving Enterprise Architecture concepts, roadmaps, principles, and strategies across an organizationBroad knowledge of business processes including service portfolio management, finance, asset management, high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk managementExceptional interpersonal and communication skills that enable productive and positive interactions with business and technical leaders at all levels of the organizationExperience with AtlassianPreferred Requirements:
Master’s DegreeCertifications in relative technologies and enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman)Familiarity with industry specific regulations and compliance standardsExperience working in a mixed Agile/Waterfall environment
Key Aspects of the Role
Design, implement, document, and maintain a scalable and robust technology architecture framework that ensures business and technology alignmentEstablish and evolve standards and architectures for system and data security, quality, production infrastructure, and Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs). These include internal standards as well as external standards such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc.Provide consultation and education to architects and engineers regarding the architecture frameworkDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key business leaders, seeking to understand their challenges and how technologies can help address those opportunitiesFoster a collaborative culture and actively engage with architects and engineers to ensure design choices are made with an understanding of business objectives, the overall architectural strategy, roadmaps, governance, and frameworksDevelop and maintain relationships with technology strategy personnel at key vendorsDevelop and maintain processes to guide and promote adherence to technology and security standards/policiesChair relevant governance groups & boards to provide oversight of planning and design processesLead technical modernization and application rationalization efforts to improve efficiency, minimize technology complexity, and avoid unnecessary duplication of capabilities or solutions to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) resulting from overspending on license costs, hardware, networking, or technologies that are no longer fit for purpose
