We are looking to hire a
Federal Security AI Leader
to join Microsoft US Federal.The Microsoft US Federal organization was established to address the unique mission, legal/regulatory requirements, and procurement rules and processes of the United States Government (USG). Microsoft US Federal is committed to ensuring its resources – including appropriately qualified, experienced, and certified personnel (with necessary security clearances or otherwise) are available as needed to meet USG evolving needs.The Federal Security AI Leader role within the Federal Security Office fosters closer alignment and collaboration between US Government security leaders and Microsoft on utilization of AI for Security and the Security of AI systems, sharing best practices and insights, and providing feedback and input to further national security interests.Responsibilities
Technical ExpertiseDevelop and maintain a deep understanding of the security needs, challenges, and opportunities of US Government (USG) customers and stakeholders including cybersecurity trends, real-time threat intelligence, regulatory and compliance, the industry trends and innovations, and the customer pain points and expectations as they relate to Artificial Intelligence.Leverage deep subject matter expertise to support Artificial Intelligence Research and Development (AI R&D) efforts to advance security outcomes.Provide regular thought leadership, guidance, and assistance to further priority customer initiatives, build relationships with key stakeholders and influencers in the USG, and provide a fast path to deploying federal security capabilities.Design and deliver programs and initiatives to invest in skilling of the USG cybersecurity and AI communities through webinars, workshops, roundtables, newsletters, blogs, podcasts, etc.Collect and synthesize feedback and input from the USG community and communicate asks and expectations to the relevant internal teams and leaders.Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration and co-innovation with USG community on AI Security matters, such as joint research, pilots, case studies, threat intelligence sharing, white papers, etc.Represent Microsoft as a trusted and credible voice on AI and security matters in the USG customer community, such as speaking at events, participating in panels, contributing to publications, etc.Minimum Qualifications:7+ years technology-related sales or account management or cybersecurity experience.OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 6+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.Other Requirements:Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions.Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening.Preferred Qualifications:9+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.9+ years of experience in cybersecurity.5+ years of experience in AI/ML and demonstration of Generative AI experience.Practitioner-level knowledge of AI and experience with modern programming languages such as Python, C#, KQL and common AI/ML libraries and techniques.Proficient knowledge and expertise on the security landscape, challenges, and solutions including the regulatory and compliance requirements, the industry standards and best practices, and the customer needs and expectations.Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex and technical concepts in a clear and compelling way to diverse audiences in challenging situations.Competent relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to establish trust and credibility with senior leaders, customers, partners, regulators, and industry peers.Proven track record of designing and delivering impactful and engaging programs and initiatives that educate, inform, and influence the security community.Passion and curiosity for learning and staying abreast of the latest trends and innovations in the security and Regulated Industry domains.Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, equivalent certifications, or prior CISO experience are preferred.Solution Area Specialists IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,000 - $217,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,600 - $237,500 per year.Microsoft will accept applications for the role until October 12th, 2024.Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
