Summary
Roger Williams Day Care Center (RWDCC) is seeking an experienced, motivated individual with a passion for working with both children and families to join our team. This position requires attention to detail with the ability to perform various tasks efficiently and accurately. The candidate must ensure all state and local regulations are followed that support equity and access to high-quality early childhood education for all children. The ideal candidate should have a friendly demeanor, a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for children, families, and staff. The Executive Director is responsible for the administrative and pedagogical leadership of the Center including, but not limited to staff supervision, policy implementation, curriculum development, and parent engagement. The Executive Director will collaborate with the site and education coordinator to oversee a team of teachers and support staff. The Executive Director is responsible for all aspects of administrative, educational, operational, financial, and logistical functions in accordance with State of Rhode Island Department of Human Services Childcare licensing regulations and RWDCC operating policies and procedures.
Duties
Knowledge of annual budgets, financial statements, records, transactions, accounting practices, and internal controls.
Ensure compliance and accuracy to improve systems and procedures.
Oversee and approve payroll, all expenditures, and grant activities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong leadership abilities collaborating with members of a team.
Promote community relations.
Maintain confidentiality.
Oversee financial management, budgeting, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
Develop initiatives and foster partnerships to support organizational growth.
Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the organization's goals and objectives.
Ensure compliance with regulations and organizational policies.
Ability to interact professionally and respectfully in handling sensitive matters.
Computer knowledge and website design a plus.
Ability to seek and write grants and respond to funding requirements for grant reporting compliance is a plus.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business with 24 units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education including core courses in Child/Human Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, and Program/Curriculum.
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood with business management experience or.
Associate’s degree in early childhood education or child development with business management experience.
Two years teaching early childcare education experience a plus.
Must complete DCYF CANTS clearance, Comprehensive Background Check, obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within 30 days of employment, and complete DHS/CELP Health and Safety training within 90 days of employment.
