Raytheon is seeking an individual to join the Cyber Security Engineering team for a Principal Cyber Engineer - P4 role performing Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) duties supporting the operations and maintenance of custom solutions and Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities at Schriever Space Force Base in Falcon, Colorado. The ideal candidate will have a strong cyber experience across the full spectrum of cyber operations from a mission execution perspective, including vulnerability management, compliance management, database, and enterprise information security infrastructure. This is an onsite position at Schriever Space Force Base in Falcon, Colorado.
What You Will Do
Author cyber documentation to include SOPs, checklists, implementation guides, architecture diagrams, playbook, crew binders, etc. to support Cyber Operation.
Respond to warning/event/alerts related to cybersecurity activities in near real-time.
Assist the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with the performance of vulnerability/compliance scans.
Consult the Cyber SME on alerts and provide necessary feedback to the Mission Director/Lead on detected or potential cybersecurity issues.
Monitor systems for cybersecurity events.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Experience with security applications (Data Integrity Tool (Tripwire), Security Information and Events Management [SIEM], Intrusion Detection Systems [IDS], Firewall, etc.).
Experience in conducting security audits and assessments, as well as using security information and event management (SIEM) tools such as LogRhythm and Splunk for monitoring and analysis.
Certifications in Computer/Network Operations (DoD 8570.01-M, IAT-III) (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCSP).
Qualifications We Prefer
An advanced degree in STEM with 8+ years of engineering experience.
Experience in assessing assigned cyber key terrain to thoroughly understand the mission, architecture, and associated threat.
Expert knowledge of what constitutes a network attack and the relationship to both threats and vulnerabilities, how traffic flows across the network (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), Internet Protocol (IP), Open System Interconnection Model (OSI), and incident response and handling methodologies).
LogRhythm or Splunk certification.
Previous Security Operations Center/Defensive Cyber Operations experience.
Experience using cyber reconnaissance to support a DoD customer.
Self-Starter requiring limited direction and supervision.
