is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS100% remote opportunityValues-based work environmentActive departmental Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee15 days of vacation your first year – Also, 12 days of sick time, 1 personal holiday, and 11 paid holidays each year100% matching, 100% immediately vesting 403(b)PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvide a high level of expertise in assigned domainsStrategize, develop, enhance, and govern architectural standardsAct as a technical lead representing the Infrastructure team on projects, enterprise planning meetings, and governance committeesCollaborate with manager on technical portfolios, research trends, create 1-3-5-year technology roadmaps, and present recommendations to leadershipOptimize the use of technologies and perform cost analysisLeverage technical expertise in impactful, enterprise-level projectsDevelop and deliver training across the department in area of expertiseResearch, test, and implement tools necessary to manage computer and storage infrastructureIdentify and implement automation and improvements to manage Infrastructure systemsProvide advice, coaching, and mentorship to team members on technical expertiseServe as the manager’s delegate to represent the team for vendor management, including strategic vendor meetings, architecture meetings, meetings with technical account managers, project design meetings, large scale incident resolution, and other technical leadership needsREQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience6+ years of experience must include:6+ years of experience with administering systems, including 4+ years of experience administering systems that support critical operations2+ years of experience developing and leading technical training for teams, and mentoring less experienced technical staff members6+ years of progressively complex and independent work experience within system designs and storage solutions6+ years’ experience acting as a Server System Administrator on either Microsoft Windows and/or Unix/Linux platforms6+ years’ experience with Enterprise scale server virtualization and hypervisors, preferably VMware and/or Nutanix6+ years’ experience in storage management, preferably on IBM and/or NetApp storage platforms6+ years of experience providing advanced support for the overall health of enterprise systems and technologies2+ years of experience primarily responsible for an enterprise technology1+ years of managing vendor relationships, including negotiating maintenance contracts, reviewing periodic service reviews, and coordinating escalations1+ years of implementing and improving processesActive member in local technology user groups and/or other professional organizations related to area of expertiseDemonstrated experience creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including standard operating procedures, system diagrams, and any other technical documentation, including, 1+ years of managing technical requirements of an enterprise systemABOUT UW MEDICINE – WHERE YOUR IMPACT GOES FURTHERUW Medicine is Washington’s only health system that includes a top-rated medical school and an internationally recognized research center.
