This role is designed for a professional ready to step into leadership responsibilities while still engaging in hands-on IT work. You will manage daily IT operations, support internal users, oversee critical infrastructure, and collaborate with our IT Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure seamless business operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to transition into an IT management role without losing touch with technical tasks.THIS IS A 4+ DAY A WEEK ON-SITE ROLEWhat You'll Do:Team and Vendor Management:

Manage day-to-day IT operations, including coordinating tasks for the IT MSPAct as the primary point of contact between the company and the IT Managed Service Provider (MSP), ensuring high service levels and timely issue resolutionOversee ticket management and escalate issues as necessary to the MSP while monitoring service delivery and performanceFacilitate the integration of new technologies in collaboration with the IT MSP and internal stakeholders

Cloud and Systems Administration:

Oversee Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and other cloud services, managing user accounts, access controls, and security protocolsAdminister and maintain local servers when implemented, ensuring high availability and optimal performanceImplement backup solutions and disaster recovery plans to safeguard business operationsManage IT assets, ensuring lifecycle management, from acquisition to decommissioning

Project Leadership and Implementation:

Lead small-to-medium IT projects, such as system upgrades, new software deployments, and network expansionsCollaborate with internal departments and the MSP to assess IT needs and implement solutions that enhance productivity and securityDevelop and maintain IT infrastructure documentation and procedures to support scalability and process improvement

Infrastructure and Network Support:

Oversee network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure secure and reliable network operationsWork with the MSP to manage network devices (e.g., switches, routers, firewalls) and perform regular updatesEnsure the ongoing reliability of audio-visual systems, including Zoom and conference room technology

Security and Compliance:

Implement and maintain security measures, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and Single Sign-On (SSO), in collaboration with the MSPEnsure that systems and data comply with company policies and relevant industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)Assist in conducting audits and compliance checks in coordination with the MSP

End-User Support and Training:

Provide high-level support for escalated IT issues and manage end-user expectations, ensuring prompt and effective resolutionsLead internal IT training initiatives, educating staff on new technologies, best practices, and security protocolsEstablish a positive, customer-focused IT environment, empowering users with self-service resources and timely support

Strategic IT Planning:

Collaborate with leadership to develop long-term IT strategies that align with company growthIdentify opportunities for IT process improvements and technology advancementsProvide input on budget planning for IT-related expenses, including vendor contracts and software licenses

About You:4-6 years of experience in IT systems administration, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team coordination roleStrong experience with Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and cloud-based solutionsAble to come on-site 4+ days a weekFamiliarity with networking concepts, including DHCP, DNS, and basic firewall administrationExperience managing IT MSP relationships, including vendor performance and project coordinationExcellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with senior leadershipDemonstrated experience in project management and leading small-to-medium IT initiativesPrior experience in a biotech or regulated environment is highly desirableAbility to balance hands-on technical work with team management responsibilitiesPreferred Skills:Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNowFamiliarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware)Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)Previous experience in budgeting and cost management for IT infrastructureCompensation at RezoThe expected starting salary range for this position based in San Francisco, California is $120,000 - $170,000. Actual starting salary will be determined based on multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education, and experience, the level at which they are hired, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. This role is eligible for participation in our Annual Discretionary Bonus Plan (based on individual and company performance) and our Equity Incentive Plan, subject to the terms of those plans and associated policies.
