Develop manufacturing processes including but not limited to tooling & raw material selection & fixture design for multi-axis CNC machines (incl. mills and mill-turn type machines) with minimal supervision.Develop CNC programs in CAM Software for multi-axis CNC machines with minimal supervision.Own responsibility for meeting and maintaining quality and lead-time requirements for several components at once.Produce detailed setup documentation within ProShop ERP.Conduct post-program prove out for error checking and run time reduction.Identify improvement opportunities in programs & processes.Troubleshoot machine issues to maximize machine utilization while mitigating dimensional issues.Increase process reliability with the use of tool breakage detection, probing, macro programming, and other tactics.Provide direction to entry-level CNC programmers when needed.Consistently improve one’s own knowledge and skills.Required Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and at least four years of experience in a similar role
OR
bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar discipline with at least two years of programming experience.Strong mechanical aptitude and good math skills.Strong understanding of CNC machining tooling & tactics including the programming and operation of multi-axis CNC machines (incl. multi-spindle turning centers with live tooling).Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, turning, etc.).Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Experience operating multi-axis CNC machines, manual mills or lathes, and general shop tools.Experience using basic metrology hand tools (calipers, micrometer, etc.).Strong attention to detail and results-driven approach.Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience working within Autodesk Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, Open Mind Hypermill, or SolidWorks.Experience running mill-turn type machines.Experience in an AS9100 aerospace machine shop.Familiarity with Haas CNC controllers.Familiarity with Heidenhain CNC controllers.To conform to US Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the US Department of State.Company Benefits
