Overview:
We are seeking a senior accountant with a mix of accounting, operations, administration and special projects experience to join our service team working with the firm's group of families. This role will play a pivotal role in recording financial activities and ensuring accurate financial reporting for the group of families the firm serves. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience, preferably within a Family Office environment, possess a strong understanding of investment accounting, portfolio management, and financial reporting and software. A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, as is extensive experience working with Microsoft Office programs and portfolio accounting systems. As a senior accountant, you will work closely with the families and their external advisors, such as bankers, auditors, tax preparers, and lawyers.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting : Prepare and review the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages for families.Accounting : Ensure all cash flows are correctly reflected in Addepar and maintain database of all bank statements. Research and resolve accounting issues and queries.Tax Compliance : Track and coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure all information is received to file timely and accurate tax returns.Cash Flow Management : Monitor cash flow positions, review investment transactions, and ensure liquidity needs are met. Process capital calls, wire transfers, distributions and other cash movements.Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis reports.Investment Tracking : Record investment activities, reconcile investment portfolios, and provide investment performance reports.Compliance and Regulation : Stay updated on regulatory changes impacting family office operations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Estate Planning : Assist in the implementation and coordination of all estate planning including signing of documents, opening of new accounts and monitoring the legal entities created.Ad-hoc or Special Projects : As required by the Family Office President.QualificationsExperience:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the family office environment.Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or a related field.Proficiency:
In Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Family Office software such as Addepar, Advent, etc.SkillsStrong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.Job Type:
