Raytheon Space and Air Airborne Sensor EO/IR/RF department within the Systems Engineering Directorate is searching for a Senior Principal Chief Engineer to provide strategic and tactical execution on a portfolio of contracts for the Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infrared (ATFLIR) program in phases of production and sustainment.

This position will be responsible for the engineering cost, schedule, and technical execution of the ATFLIR Program for our Global Navy Program Area. As the Senior Principal Chief Engineer you will sit on the ATFLIR program leadership team as part of a larger cross functional team reviewing all Programs, strategies, and business related activities in the program. Will lead a team of 10 to 20 engineers of varying disciplines within the McKinney Factory Engineering Department and provide management activities to include staffing and hiring, training coordination, performance management, career development, and resource management.

What You Will Do:

Act as primary technical contact for the Customer's Engineering and Technical counterparts

Provide analysis, respond to technical inquiries in a timely manner, and establish boundaries while balancing customer satisfaction levels to mitigate risk of taking on tasks outside of the contractual scope.

Roadmap development, customer engagement, product line vision, strategy, goals, and proposal development across the Product line

Program lifecycles including production, sustainment, field support, and internal investment (IR&D, Capital) efforts

Responsible for Manufacturing Process Generation, documentation & sustainment activities

Technical floor support related to the Manufacturing Process

Process improvement to include lean & factory dynamics, factory product equipment selection & support

Engage with Global Navy Program Area leadership to provide technical recommendations on future system strategy and sustainment

Review and approve cost, schedule, and budget information for Estimate At Completions (EACs) and proposals at the business level

Lead cross-discipline engineering teams with strong organizational, coordination, planning, and team building

Promote collaboration and communication across all engineering disciplines, technical supplier management, business development and program leadership

Travel up to 25%

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and ten (10) OR an advanced degree with eight (8) years of Airborne Electro-Optics experience.

Delivery of technical data and solutions to both technical & non-technical audiences, senior level, Internal & External stakeholders, and Customers

Experience as a Lead Design Engineer, Program Chief Engineer, Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) or similar role

Oversee and track project progress, implement effective monitoring systems to ensure adherence to schedules and milestones

Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance (or above level Clearance). U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Engineering Manager to lead a diverse team of engineers across different disciplines

Production and sustainment experience with airborne platform EOIR sensors

Technical and Cost Lead experience on Proposals and Programs

Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Basis of Estimate (BOE), RFI / RFP shaping and response experience

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
