functions.Job Description:We are seeking a
Software Engineer I
to support the development and enhancement of tactical network systems. In this role, the candidate will assist in creating software solutions to meet evolving mission requirements, collaborating with stakeholders, and supporting the development of software prototypes for tactical use. The position requires solid foundational knowledge in software development processes and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:Software Development:
Assist in the development of software solutions that integrate new technologies and meet operational needs.Collaboration:
Work with Army stakeholders and technical teams to understand operational requirements and support the development of tools that align with mission objectives.Prototyping and Testing:
Contribute to the development of high-quality software prototypes and assist in testing and deployment.Documentation:
Support the documentation of software development processes, ensuring clear communication of changes and updates.Feedback Integration:
Work with users and stakeholders to gather feedback and refine software products based on real-world use cases.Technical Skills and Requirements:Service Architecture and APIs:
Basic experience with
REST ,
Open API , and service architectures.Virtualization and Containers:
Familiarity with virtualization and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), as well as databases.Linux Scripting:
Exposure to
Linux scripting frameworks
and automation tools such as
PowerShell .Version Control:
Basic understanding of version control systems like Git.Test-Driven Development:
Some experience or exposure to test-driven development methodologies.Network and Security:
General understanding of network architecture and cybersecurity best practices.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Testing, or a related field. (Alternatively, a BS can be substituted with an additional 5 years of related tactical network software engineering experience.)A minimum of 1 year of related experience in
tactical network software engineering
