Network Engineer I
to join our team. This position focuses on the design, integration, and maintenance of tactical and strategic communications networks, playing a crucial role in supporting the Army's communication systems.Key Responsibilities:Network Design & Maintenance:
Design, plan, install, integrate, and maintain backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks, including components of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and the Global Information Grid (GIG).Requirements Gathering:
Work closely with users and stakeholders to gather requirements from Operational Need Statements and Capability Production Documents (CPD) for Army tactical communications systems, translating these into standards-based, cost-efficient technical solutions.Architecture Development:
Develop network architecture for adjacent, higher, and lower units, as well as for allied nations, other government agencies, and commercial service interfaces.Engineering & Integration:
Responsible for the engineering design, development, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of the tactical network.Technical Support:
Support technical tasks in the integration of Data/Voice/Video/Telephony in the Tactical Network. Provide engineering and technical documentation and assist in the development of technical requirements, specifications, plans, and reports.Equipment Labs Support:
Provide technical support in PM TN equipment labs, developing equipment and network configurations and products.Technology Testing:
Support technology insertion testing related to emerging PM TN Networks requirements and capabilities.Cisco Systems Experience:
Utilize knowledge of Cisco IOS and NXOS, Cisco ISE, Cisco UCS Networking and Configuration, and Cisco ASA. Proficient in routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, and multicast, with a background in designing and implementing LANs and VLANs.Virtualization & Storage Technologies:
Familiarity with virtualization and storage technologies from VMware, EMC, NetApp, Microsoft, Dell, HP, and others.Required Expertise:Military Network Knowledge:
Understanding of current and future Force tactical and strategic military communications networks, including architecture, protocols, security, network management, and physics.Technical Proficiency:
Basic experience in network design, integration, and troubleshooting within military contexts.Analytical Skills:
Ability to analyze and resolve network issues effectively.Team Collaboration:
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree
in Engineering, Testing, or a related field.1+ years of tactical network engineering experience
in a military or similar environment.Knowledge of networking protocols
