We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Prognostics Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with a strong technical background in vehicle health management and prognostics. In this role, you will guide the research, design, deployment, and launch of advanced diagnostics and prognostics products. We are looking for an innovative continuous learner and collaborative problem solver who is driven to take ideas to production.
Responsibilities:
As a subject matter expert on vehicle health management and prognostics, provide guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Contribute to developing software architecture, tools, and processes, and oversee the design, development, and validation of prognostics solutions, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, program management, and engineering teams to ensure the successful delivery of prognostics projects.
Stay updated on relevant regulations and standards in prognostics, ensuring compliance in all products and initiatives.
Keep abreast of industry trends and new technology, and educate the global team.
Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Drive innovation and research in prognostics methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field; PhD preferred.
10+ years of experience in design and implementation of advanced diagnostics and prognostics products.
Proven experience in prognostics with a deep understanding of prognostics methodologies, software architecture, and deploying prognostics to the onboard vehicle controllers as well as the cloud infrastructure/systems.
10+ years of experience in prognostics software development (Matlab/Simulink, Python, C).
Exceptional skills in advanced signal processing, estimation theory, waveform design, FFTs, stochastic processes, physics based/data driven modeling, and prognostics software architecture.
Strong knowledge of statistics and machine learning.
A passion for innovation and continuous improvement, and a desire to push the boundaries of prognostics technology.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
Demonstrated ability to process a high volume of work with high complexity with nonstandard solutions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Deep knowledge of vehicle electrical architecture, telematics, and cloud platforms.
Robustness analysis and validation experience (HIL and SIL, design of experiment, unit testing).
Experience debugging embedded control systems.
Demonstrated technical creativity, research publications, and development of intellectual property.
Compensation:
The expected base compensation for this role is
$172,900 - $264,800.
Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
