The office of institutional equity and belonging is the dynamic center of antiracism, diversity, equity and inclusion (ADEI) at Colorado College. Leading by example, our vision is a justice-centered Colorado College community in which all members feel a sense of belonging and where we continuously uproot oppression wherever it exists. The Assistant Vice President will play a key role in developing a comprehensive institutional vision of ADEI education and professional development across constituencies.Responsibilities
Develop and facilitate ADEI workshops and professional development opportunities that increase the community’s collective understanding of, and agency for, ADEI.Identify current research trends and incorporate creative content to design a training curriculum that reflects best practices in the field of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion and anti-oppressive pedagogy.Facilitate and schedule training and workshops and the implementation and planning for capacity building (e.g. training development).Develop learning outcomes and comprehensive, ongoing assessments of ADEI education and professional development.Serve as a thought partner to faculty and co-curricular staff on diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism.Consult and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify training or workshop needs to address professional, social, and interpersonal development for faculty, staff, students, and community organizations.Collect, analyze, and interpret data from training/professional development offerings to assess and track trends for annual reporting and strategic planning.Partner with the Butler Center to support the training and implementation of the Peer Educators program.Develop a model for ADEI professional development and capacity building for faculty and staff.Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of teaching and/or workshop facilitation and 3+ years of management and leadership experience/administrative work. A demonstrable record of effective collaboration among campus constituencies. Proven ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders. Effective administrative and workshop facilitation skills. A broad knowledge of innovative teaching and theories of inclusive pedagogies. An awareness of discipline-specific pedagogical approaches; excellent writing and oral communication skills.Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate in a related field, experience taking a leadership role in developing and implementing programs, curricula, and/or other institutional activities that place DEI concerns and commitments at their center.Applicants are welcome to apply even if you do not meet the preferred qualifications.
