As part of our expanding Oncology Medical Affairs team,Corcept is seeking a Senior

Director, Medical Strategy.

This role will report to the VP, Medical Affairs and will lead medical activities through the successful execution of the oncology medical affairs strategy and tactical plan. They will support the clinical development program and commercialization activities in partnership with other key functions across the organization in addition to external partners. They will partner with Commercial, Research and Development, Clinical Development, HEOR, and Regulatory Affairs. The Director will leverage advanced medical expertise in partnership with the Medical team on areas spanning external strategy, clinical development, and commercialization. The role provides internal strategy leadership and external ambassadorship for medical science and strategic oncology stakeholders. They will serve as a key member of the Medical Affairs Leadership Team (MALT) contributing to launch & development efforts, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and advancing innovation.

Responsibilities:

Provide medical leadership and contribute medical/scientific expertise for the development and execution of the Medical Affairs Strategic Plan, objectives, and supportive tactics, including the design of the publication plan

Lead Medical strategy, publication strategy, and professional society engagement plans. Measure and assess the effectiveness of US Medical plans regularly

Lead development and execution of a competitive intelligence plan and deliverables as well as insight generation and dissemination

Collaborate with Clinical Development on an IIS strategy including areas of interest and budget. Lead the review process and ensure timely decision-making

Lead advisory boards in collaboration with Clinical Development to drive input for lifecycle management, HCP education, publication strategy, etc

Serve as a member of the Product Development Team (PCT)

Cultivate relationships with external medical and scientific experts, clinical researchers, and academic centers to assess unmet medical needs to develop and execute appropriate medical strategy

Partner with key medical opinion leaders in developing scientific messaging, slide training, and speaker preparation

Identify areas of unmet need and work collaboratively to design solutions to address the evolving medical needs of patients and physicians

Represent Corcept at key medical conferences and external events

Design and deliver medical educational content to targeted external partners

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

Demonstrated ability to educate, engage, and mentor medical stakeholders

Strong track record of serving as a senior leader to diverse external audiences, including but not limited to community oncology, academic institutions, research consortia, conferences and media

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to evaluate scientific data and medical literature and the ability to extrapolate to medical, marketing, or sales programs required

Understanding of the US Healthcare system, the pharmaceutical industry, and clinical and health economic practices in the US is required

Strong oral, written, and presentation skills with a thorough understanding of current medical oncology practice and the willingness to learn new areas of oncology

Preferred Education and Experience:

Advanced degree in a scientific or medical discipline (PharmD, MD, PhD); Oncology experience required; gyn/onc preferred

12+ years of directly relevant experience in oncology

Experience with US market medical promotional review preferred

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this headquarters-based position is $275,000 - $323,500; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
