The
Educational Services Division
is now accepting applications for Home Visiting Specialist - Early Head Start – Restricted.
Under assigned supervision, the Home Visiting Specialist - Early Head Start - Restricted is responsible for providing intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services to enhance the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of participating children. The Home Visiting Specialist promotes positive parent-child interactions and provides resources to parents in a home-based setting to support parents in their roles. The Home Visiting Specialist is also responsible for coordinating and leading socialization sessions with groups of children and their families.
This position is full-time and has a work year of 12 months, 261 days, 8 hours per day.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
AA/AS degree from an accredited college with major course work in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Services, Social Services or related field AND
Experience:
one (1) year of experience working with children, families, community groups and public agencies, providing safety, child or mental health consultation.
Experience providing home visitation services for parents, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and serving families with disabilities is preferred.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to complete three (3) units of Infant/Toddler education within one year after hire.
Valid California driver's license.

EXAMINATION PROCEDURES:
Assessments and interviews may take place virtually or in-person.
Following the final filing date, the qualifications of all candidates will be evaluated.
The most qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a written exam, tentatively scheduled for
December 3, 2024.
Those who pass the written exam will be invited to participate in an oral examination with subject matter experts, tentatively scheduled for
December 11, 2024.
Based on the final scores of qualified candidates, Classified Personnel Services will establish a ranked candidate list.
Selected candidates from the list will be invited to a second interview with the hiring authorities, tentatively scheduled for
December 18, 2024.
