Hours : Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a one-year AmeriCorps grant-funded position. The purpose of this AmeriCorps planning grant is to provide support to develop an AmeriCorps program that will engage AmeriCorps members in implementing evidence-based interventions to solve community problems. AmeriCorps provides a means to address the community need for mental health and substance use intervention using a peer recovery model. AmeriCorps members will be supervised by this Project Director, who will have oversight of this project.
The Project Director serves as the day-to-day point of contact for the grant and is responsible for ensuring that all requirements of the grant are met and that reports are submitted in a timely and accurate manner. The position will work directly with the external grant evaluator and funder consultant.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in related field (social work, counseling, behavioral health, etc.). May also consider healthcare administration, business administration, or related depending on applicant’s directly related work experience.
Three (3) years of related experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with this role, including at least one (1) year of clinical experience working with the population served, and at least one (1) year of federal or state grant experience, SAMHSA grant experience preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
RELATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of substance use disorders and co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
Knowledge of community mental health and substance use disorders treatment resources and treatment practices.
Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of grant project planning and monitoring techniques, grant performance evaluation, data compilation and reporting, and budget preparation and monitoring.
Ability to collect, analyze and report data, including ability to identify and measure outcomes, and develop reports.
Understanding of GPRA data collection protocols.
Ability to facilitate groups to achieve program goals and objectives.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to create presentations and above-average presentation skills.
Ability to work and contribute within a collaborative team environment.
Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training, including both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with consumers as needed.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have ability to travel to locations within the assigned geographical area to attend meetings and perform assigned duties.
