Responsibilities
The Office of Space Weather Observations (SWO) under NESDIS is responsible for advancing space weather observational capabilities to meet NOAA programmatic needs. NOAA's Space Weather Next (SWX) program maintains and extends space weather observations from various vantage points, selected to most efficiently provide comprehensive knowledge of the Sun and the near-Earth space environment needed to protect our technological infrastructure.
The Space Weather Ground Services (SWGS) is responsible for comprehensive ground services for all SWX projects, ensuring successful implementation and operation of observing assets and ensuring the continuity of space weather measurements made by SWFO-L1 and the GOES-R series satellites.
The SWGS Mission Operations Services (MOS) program must provide a full mission satellite command and control solution to support the L1 Series with two new independently launched observatories.
Peraton is seeking to hire a Configuration Management Analyst Advisor to join this new SWGS-MOS program.
Overview: Implements and manages the change control process. Controls changes to product requirements, design, documentation, and implementation via configuation control boards (CCBs) in coordination with the program team to determine the effect on the end product design and function and determines and prepares documentation necessary for change. Authors and revises the program's configuration management plan (CMP).Designs and establishes management documentation. Authorizes the release of drawings, and hardware/software configuration changes as approved by the CCB.specified by management and other functional groups. Develops and maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products. Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new hardware/software product operating parameters and licensing are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable. Designs, develops, Implements, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development. Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use. May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use. May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards. May provide guidance to less experienced employees.

Supports configuration audits to ensure compliance to the published baseline, addressing TRs, CCRs, DRs, documentation, release notes, and delivery media, documenting differences as DRs per program requirements.474-00210, Revision C, SWFO Discrepancy Review Board processUses CM tools (ECMT for operations,; Git, Jira, Insight for factory and support); and configuration auditing scripts to monitor changes to operating systems, software, configuration setting, GFP, COTS products, applications, and firmwareDevelops document and drawing treesSupports creation and delivery of CDRLs, completed reports, change requests, and document under configuration control as described in the SWFO CM proceduresPerforms configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainableDesigns, develops, automates, and maintains productivity tools using programming, database or scripting languages to improve software modeling and development.Designs and implements build procedures that are used to support software product development and use
QualificationsActive Public Trust clearanceBachelor's (or equivalent) with 10 years of experience, a Master's with 8 years of experience, or a PhD with 5 years if experienceExperience working with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Insight, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, etc.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practicesStrong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers and vendorsHighly organized with strong attention to detailOutstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically tailor communications effectively to different levels of the organizationUnderstanding of financial concepts and terminologyExperience leading projects and process improvement activities to completion with successful outcomes and delivery of desired results#SWGMS

Target Salary Range
