Join us in creating a cleaner tomorrow, today.Summary:The Sr. Director of Project Management is responsible for establishing and leading project management functions and overseeing the end-to-end execution of multiple parallel projects. This includes managing risks, resolving issues, and handling dependencies across projects. The Sr. Director leads key projects within a diverse project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals. With extensive experience in project and program management, the Sr. Director possesses strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and expertise in driving innovation and organizational transformation. This individual has a demonstrated history of working within agile and program model structures and is adept at building relationships across functions to align strategies and drive execution. The Sr. Director is a strategic problem solver who can prioritize multiple, competing priorities while executing plans effectively. This role combines the responsibilities of a strategist, operator, influencer, and delivery specialist, ensuring that projects are delivered successfully and drive business value.Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of project managers, both internal and contracted, project coordinators, and project management managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, providing guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunitiesLead programs driving innovation and manage delivery across multiple workstreams, assessing trade-offs consistentlyProvide strategic vision and direction for the project management function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term objectiveLead the development and implementation of project management policies, standards, and frameworks across the organizationGenerate and maintain a 12-month project roadmap in conjunction with business leaders, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and organizational prioritiesDrive the adoption of best practices and innovative methodologies to enhance project management capabilitiesServe as the escalation point for project stakeholders, including clients, executive management, and team membersOversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of all projects within the portfolio, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budgetEstablish and maintain effective governance structures for project and program management, including risk management frameworks, escalation protocols, and performance metricsResponsible for executing programs and projects that meet timelines, budgets, and quality standardsIdentify, assess, and manage high-level project risks, roadblocks, and issues, implementing effective mitigation strategies and ensuring project continuityDevelop dashboards, reporting, and analysis to ensure clarity of the project portfolioBuild and nurture strong relationships with senior executives, key stakeholders, and external partners to secure buy-in and support for project initiativesCollaborate closely with other business units to identify and map key processes and dependencies across the portfolioWork closely with Finance and Accounting to ensure project execution decisions are informed by financial forecasting and that forecasted financials and project P&L impacts are accurately reflectedStay current with industry trends and emerging practices, integrating new tools and methodologies to continuously improve project management processesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience10+ years of experience in Project Management, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects7+ years' experience in a leadership role, with demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teamsPMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification required; additional certifications such as PgMP (Program Management Professional), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Lean Six Sigma a plusExperience leading large program management efforts, including establishing effective governance structures, cross-functional coordination, and executive stakeholder management and reportingProven ability to deliver projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline, with a strong focus on strategic alignment and organizational impactExceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executive leadershipStrong relationship-building skillsAdvanced proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) and enterprise tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)Deep knowledge of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall, with the ability to implement and scale these methodologies across an organizationProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving business outcomes and continuous improvementAbility to manage a diverse portfolio of projects and programs simultaneously, with a high tolerance for ambiguity and pressureDemonstrated leadership, adaptability, and conflict resolution skillsSelf-motivated, with a high sense of accountability, urgency, and drivePowin is not accepting resumes from unsolicited headhunters or agencies at this time.EEO STATEMENT:
