MPP, At-Will, Fundraising & Alumni Relations, Full Time, On-siteJob SummaryThe Assistant Vice President for Development, Colleges and Units will be responsible for providing leadership and direction while overseeing fundraising productivity for all colleges and units on campus. The incumbent will collaborate with Development Officers to cultivate individual prospects and carry a portfolio of major and principal gift level donors/prospects. This position will actively fundraise on behalf of the University to enhance philanthropy and support the development operations by training Development Officers and growing the major gift pipeline. The position reports to the Associate Vice President of Development in the division of University Development and Alumni Engagement.Department SummaryThe University Development and Alumni Engagement (UDAE) Division fosters strong relationships with internal and external partners while enhancing support for Cal Poly. UDAE implements an advancement program that includes alumni and parent engagement, community outreach, coordinated fundraising efforts, donor relations, and support for the donor database.Key QualificationsDemonstrated ability to set achievable goals, develop strategic frameworks, establish effective metrics, and execute key programs with measurable results.Experience in designing, planning, and managing comprehensive fundraising plans to meet targets.Skilled leader who can inspire and lead day-to-day operations, encouraging the professional development of team members.Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and multi-task in a complex university setting.Expertise in all phases of fundraising, including principal gifts, major gifts, and regional fundraising programs.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, with at least five (5) years of managerial experience.Licenses, Certificates, CredentialsPossession of a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.Salary and BenefitsThe anticipated hiring range for this role is $155,000 - $215,000 annually, based on the background and relevant experience of the selected individual.
