Overview:This role will be responsible for ensuring that all firm human resources policies and accompanying systems and processes comply with federal, state and local US government regulations. This individual will be responsible to project manage all necessary compliance initiatives and will act as a trusted advisor to firm leadership and internal teams, helping the firm respond to new regulations by providing advice and training to responsible HR and administrative teams.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the subject matter expert on all firm Human Resources compliance policies, procedures and programs to ensure that they meet legal requirements. Partner with Office of the General Counsel to produce interpretations of findings as well as recommendations on changes to existing policies and firm systems.

Partner with OGC, IT, Information Security, HRIS, HR and other relevant teams on deliverables related to payroll and time entry (ensure accurate time entry rules and payroll calculations, including meal waivers and PTO balances), EEO reporting, onboarding and introduction of new technology platforms; proactively notify relevant stakeholders about changes and ensure proactive compliance.

Report to HR leadership on compliance status, proposed improvements, and impending legislative changes. Provide reports that measure improvements as needed.

Oversee compliance with data privacy regulations such as CCPA, GDPR, and other emerging laws; partner with legal and data privacy teams to ensure adherence to regulations and policies.

Project manage annual Human Resources policy review:

Stay informed about changes in employment laws, regulations, and industry standards that may impact HR policies.

Partner with OGC to ensure that all policies are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as industry-specific regulations.

Update policies as necessary to reflect changes in legal requirements and mitigate compliance risks.

Address additional compliance issues such as state leave laws, insurance entitlements, and monthly pay for exempt employees.

Ensure compliance with personnel file rules, including providing access to information and maintaining categories.

Stay updated on emerging compliance issues, especially in areas such as AI regulations and data privacy in Asia.

Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address potential compliance challenges and ensure proactive measures are in place.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or JD a plus.

Minimum of five years of hands-on HRIS, policy compliance and risk management experience gained at a professional services firm or a multi-national corporation.

Experience with legal compliance in multiple jurisdictions is a plus.

Relevant certifications (e.g., HR certification, compliance certification) preferred.

Fluency in U.S. compliance laws, knowledge of Asia and U.K. law is a plus.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below in alpha order and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

Boston $133,500 - $201,000

New York $140,000 - $211,000

Working Conditions:This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
