Chief Executive Officer

Job Summary:
The President/CEO provides general supervision, direction, and control of the business of the Corporation and the administrative officers of the Corporation. The President/CEO shall be an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors and all standing committees and shall have all the powers and duties of management usually vested in the office of the President of a corporation and shall have such powers and duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors or Corporation Bylaws. The President will act as the duly authorized representative of the Board of Directors in all matters in which the Board of Directors has not formally designated some other person for that purpose. The President/CEO is responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory agencies.
Job Duties:
Develops and communicates the strategic vision for the company, consistent with the mission and vision statements and with Corporation Bylaws.
Develops short-term and long-term strategic plans to ensure the sustainability of the company and its mission.
Assures good stewardship of the resources of the Corporation and of all volunteer blood donations.
Directs the activities of the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Medical Director.
Recruits, hires, and oversees competency of the SMT and Medical Director.
Frequently communicates with the Board of Directors to assure transparency and to support good board governance.
Assures that SMT reviews all SOPs, internal audits, and inspection reports and maintains awareness to assure compliance.
Assures appropriate licensing is procured and maintained to operate the company.
Directs SMT in the development of budget proposals and business planning.
Regularly communicates with the community, physicians, Corporation Members, Board Members, staff, hospital authorities, and other customers and stakeholders.
Approves all contracts, leases, major purchases
Approves the company’s Quality Plan
Attends all Board of Director and committee meetings as ex-officio Director.
Regularly performs SWOT assessments and works to leverage the company’s strengths and opportunities to maintain and grow the business, identify, avoid or mitigate threats.

About You:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
A graduate degree such as MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent data-informed is preferred. An MD/DO candidate would be considered.
Must have a proven people-oriented leadership style
In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and performance management principles
A minimum of five years working in the healthcare or blood bank industry in a C-suite position, preferred
An innovative mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
Strong background in business, including strategic planning. knowledge and understanding of the most effective and efficient ways to utilize all of the resources of the organization, human or otherwise.
A strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to make data–informed decisions.
Exemplify the highest level of integrity and discretion, managing sensitive information, lead confidently in high-pressure situations, and represent the leadership team with professionalism and credibility
Familiarity with diverse business functions such as lab, marketing, HR, and donor collection operations
Must be an excellent communicator and active listener that values feedback and input from others, including board members, employees, business and community leaders, physicians, hospital representatives, and elected officials.
