Position Title: Sourcing Manager
Avangrid Renewables: Offshore Operations
Location: Boston, MA
Salary: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $110 to $132k
Job Summary:
Belonging to the Offshore Operations Team and reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, or Director O&M Contracts, Sourcing Managers develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories and suppliers to enable cost-competitive operation of Avangrid Renewables’ 2 GW plus US offshore wind portfolio. Categories include all services and associated materials to support Avangrid’s operation and maintenance model. This role will require the individual to work closely with site operations team and the company’s back-office team (engineering, project management, corporate functions, etc.) located primarily in Boston.
Job Duties:
Lead identification and qualification of sources of supply for services including: facility management, engineering services, inspections for any onshore/offshore assets (e.g. high voltage substations and wind turbine foundations), ancillary offshore support services (e.g. ad-hoc need for additional vessels).
Identify and qualify suppliers. Understand supplier capabilities and limitations.
Help to establish a database of suppliers and their qualifications.
Work with Engineering to develop and refine technical specifications to ensure that the specification meets all requirements from the field and that bidders understand those requirements.
Synthesize requirements in scopes of work and pricing templates for bid packages. Works with plants to refine requirements.
Manage risk and improve leverage by implementing multiple sources of supply.
Work with Corporate Procurement to publish and evaluate requests for proposals consistent with Company policies.
Negotiate and benchmark terms and pricing with new and existing suppliers. Finalize contracts including performance requirements, such as safety and liquidated damages.
Manage and improve supplier performance and relationships. Anticipate and resolve any quality issues or risks. Serve as point of contact on contract renewals, amendments, etc.
Ensure all relevant internal controls are followed and develop new controls as needed.
Coordinate with site and finance team to track and report (weekly) of all sourcing activities (e.g. upcoming sourcing needs, status of ongoing tenders, PO spend on live contracts, etc.) to Director of O&M Contracts.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
Education & Experience Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or Engineering or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Fluent in reading and interpreting technical documents, drawings, and specifications. Prior experience and knowledge of power generation desirable.
5 years supplier management experience: including qualifying suppliers, negotiating pricing and administering contracts, managing supplier quality, etc.
Demonstrated experience identifying and qualifying alternative and new sources of supply.
Self-starter with demonstrated performance leading initiatives in a matrixed organization.
Excellent analytical, project management, presentation, teamwork, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of purchasing workflows and SAP/ERP systems.

Written expression is clear, concise, and conveys the desired message.
Ability to analyze project risks and proactively identify solutions with a flexible, creative, and solution-focused outlook on problem solving.
Some experience in commercial and contractual aspects of engineering.
Proven ability to manage the negotiation of multi-contracts in competing timescales.
Experience in industry with experience in a relevant industry (e.g. Oil/Gas/Renewables/Energy).
Strong command of English, both verbally and written.
IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT based project management software.
