Through our relentless pursuit of better, we are decarbonizing our planet at the gigaton level, and bringing the advantages of clean energy to all of us.ABOUT THE POSITIONWe are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our Origination team. The Vice President, Origination would join our team of Originators who source, negotiate, and execute Power Purchase Agreements (“PPA”) and other structured power offtake arrangements. This position would also initiate new business development efforts in growing areas of the renewables landscape. The position requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, unstructured environment, constantly collaborating with various internal and external teams to meet customer driven deadlines. The individual would ultimately be responsible for managing customer bids and meetings, performing various market analyses and supporting efforts to optimize new product structures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with project team to source, negotiate and execute Purchase Power Agreements and other complex solar and battery energy storage offtake arrangements.Create new and build upon existing key relationships with utilities, municipals and corporate offtake partners.Coordinate with development, finance, engineering and other departments to develop bespoke solutions for customers, including a leading role in the underwriting of pricing and development of pitch materials for opportunities.Negotiate contract language in collaboration with legal team and other functional stakeholders to ensure PPA financeability.Evaluate market revenue potential and work with energy markets to develop project revenue forecasts.Communicate key deal points and present recommendations to executive management.Travel to customer meetings and relevant industry conferences.Role would focus on PPA opportunities in the western United States with emphasis on CAISO market and report into the Chief Commercial Officer.REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICAT IONSAt least 10 years of experience in the energy industry.Minimum four-year bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, MBA preferred.Must have extensive experience in long term energy procurement structures and technologies.Must have experience and knowledge of renewable generation technologies.Must have knowledge of regulatory policies, rates and tariffs and electric transmission.Proven ability to lead a team.Solid understanding of economic drivers for renewable energy projects.Independent self-starter who can meet deadlines and deliver quality products with minimal oversight.Demonstrated ability to translate contracts into concise financial and economic analysis.Detail-oriented with a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of work product.Excellent personal organizational, pattern recognition, and negotiation skills.
