Read more about NIF here.POSITION DESCRIPTIONNIF seeks an engaging, focused, and reliable professional to serve as a Development Associate and support our national fundraising efforts. The Development Associate will serve as the right hand to two Directors of Outreach and Major Gifts and a Development & Program Officer, providing invaluable support to their fundraising, public engagement, and community relations work in cities around the U.S. This position provides crucial administrative functions and is a key member of the National Outreach teams, actively supporting the growth of NIF’s donor base and presence in cities around the country where NIF does not have on-site staff. The position will be divided such that approximately 50% of the time will be dedicated to national outreach in the eastern US region including Florida (NOEFL) and 50% to national outreach in the western US region (NOW).RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the day-to-day operations for the Regional Directors; acting as first point of contact for volunteers and donors, screening calls, inquiries, and requests, preparing materials for meetings and events, and making travel arrangements as needed.Organize and attend events as needed, including occasional travel within the region. This includes creating promotional materials, booking vendors, coordinating with speakers, managing partnerships with co-hosts, etc.Work with donor databases, including recordkeeping, recording interactions with donors, researching donors, and running reports.Conduct prospect research and manage the donor prospect pipeline.Help steward donor portfolio for gifts remotely, including solicitation and thank you calls.Provide meticulous donor care, including responding to phone calls, emails, and other correspondence as needed.Draft materials for direct donor outreach, such as email blasts, invitations, and gift acknowledgements.Provide support for grant proposals and reports, including managing deadlines and files, gathering information for submissions, preparing and editing documents.Liaise with groups of volunteers, including Regional Councils in Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Seattle.Provide logistical and technical support for educational and fundraising events, including creating outreach lists, creating registration pages, drafting email correspondences, and mailing invitations.Prepare invoices and expense reports.Provide ongoing administrative support as required.Work collaboratively with local and national NIF staff.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage several projects at one time while meeting deadlines.Clear communicator and outstanding interpersonal skills, steady demeanor, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.Ability to work independently, take initiative, problem-solve, and be a team player.Computer proficiency essential; experience with CRMs, fundraising, email marketing platforms a plus.Interest and aptitude to learn job-specific computer programs such as Outlook, EveryAction, and Raiser’s Edge.Competency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, general Drive organization).Experience in creating and analyzing spreadsheets.Interest in Israel/Palestine, human rights, civil rights, current international socio-political events, and social justice issues preferred.REPORTING & SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPSThis position reports to the Director of Outreach, Eastern US and the Director of Outreach, Western US.LOCATIONThis position must be based in the U.S. In cities where NIF has an office (New York, Washington, DC, Boston, and San Francisco), employees may work 1-2 days in the office, and other days from home. Some travel may be required for regional fundraising events.SALARY AND COMPENSATIONThe salary range for this position is $51,500 – $57,500 annually based on skill and experience.
