Seal Beach, CA

Duties And Responsibilities Establishes a full and complete understanding of project requirements. Responsible for full life cycle project from the requirements through the new product introduction (NPI) and into production. Coordinates and hosts regular project meetings with relevant team members and stakeholders, involving a range of engineering disciplines. Proactively reviews and communicates project status in terms of cost, schedule, performance, issues, and risks, as well as action plans to mitigate issues and risks. Reviews Gantt charts regularly and collaborates with appropriate team members to update tasks accordingly. Coordinates with firmware, software, mechanical, quality, technicians, planners, and other engineering resources to ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT). Synchronizes the procurement or allocation of tools and resources to ensure the success of the project. Proactively monitors timelines and target dates in team Microsoft Project file and related tools. Removes roadblocks from team members and works with business development to drive the projects forward. Closes gaps between team members’ communications, tools, materials, and schedules anomalies. Maintains up-to-date project documentation: PDS, Gantt, specs, NPI checklist, and others. Performs other duties as assigned. Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and previous related experience in a project management or engineering management role or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. New product development experience is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM) process is preferred. The ability to adhere to existing schedule templates using industry standard milestones such as PDR, CDR is necessary. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set goals and priorities, and meet deadlines is necessary. Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of computer programs, such as MS Project, Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is necessary. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and written, and an ability to work effectively in a team-based environment across all levels of the organization is necessary. The ability to manage multiple tasks at one time, identify and address details, meet deadlines, and coordinate with other departments in a professional, diplomatic manner is necessary. Strong analytical, reasoning, inter-personal communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills is necessary. The ability to adapt to change and react positively to changing business needs is necessary. All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check.
