The Mental Health Association is seeking a
Program Director for our
Assisted Outpatient Treatment Services program,operating out of both Morris County and Sussex Counties.
Assisted Outpatient Treatment Services (AOT) delivers community-based mental health services under a civil commitment court order to individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses.AOT enables individuals to live safely within their communities, to avoid repeat hospitalizations and to ensure access to outpatient mental health services.
Qualifications:A Master's degree
within Social Work, Counseling or another related discipline.A current and valid
New Jersey,LCSW, LSW,LPC or LACA minimum of
four (4) years progressive work experience in mental health
with at least
two(2)years in community mental health and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.A thorough understanding of wellness and recovery core competencies.An understanding of the principles and use of teamwork and team building concepts.Responsibilities:Overall responsibility for the operation of AOT,assuring all services adhere to agency ethical standards and meet requirements and contractual obligations of funding sources, e.g. Medicaid, Medicare, N.J. DMHAS.Responsible for educating the community in the legislation associated with the IOC law.Reviewing intake assessment and developing and overseeing all AOT program services and procedures.Reviewing treatment plans for individuals involved in the AOT program.Interface with courts as needed.Responsible for educating referral sources and other mental health providers regarding IOC program and consumer rights.Responsible for implementing AOT court orders.Attending county and state meetings relevant to the AOT program.Providing program leadership and supervision to the AOT staff. Teaching staff new applications and skills to improve the level of staff competency.Provide culture competent, recovery-oriented services while using Motivational Interviewing and other evidenced-based practices.Using training, evaluation and feedback to improve performance of self and program.Tracking and reporting statistical outcome measurements that will be used to improve staff performance program effectiveness.Supervisor to:
