10 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.10 years of experience with legal, regulatory and litigation matters, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience engaging with regulators, including State Attorney Generals (AG), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Justice (DOJ), and global data protection or consumer protection authorities.Experience developing, evaluating, and maintaining programs that ensure products comply with laws, regulations, and external commitments.Experience with managing projects and partnering with cross-functional teams.Experience working with public company boards and their counsel, including special committees and audit committees.Experience with high-risk incident response within internet or technology companies, including expertise in privacy, data security, or consumer protection subject matter.Experience working with technology companies and ability to understand technical issues.About the Job:

As Senior Regulatory and Litigation Counsel, Privacy you will join an Americas-based team that leads the strategy for defending the company in responses to governments and regulators. The role involves defining a defense strategy, conducting investigations, collection and review of information, and representing the company in engagements.20th century laws don't always solve 21st century problems, and Google Legal crafts innovative approaches for working with some of the toughest legal challenges of the information age. Our innovative services raise challenging questions that demand creative and practical answers.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $246,000-$350,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, litigation, enforcement actions, and overlapping civil matters.Oversee the collection and production of accurate information in external submissions and disclosures.Provide legal advice on government and regulatory audits and exams.Google is proud to be an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
