Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in dams and levees for our clients’ operations in Northern California and can be either the Bay Area or Sacramento office. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in the design, analysis, and construction of water resource structures. This role includes leading projects, collaborating with teams, and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
Lead the design and analysis of dam and levee projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Design Expertise:
Develop design solutions using engineering principles and tools.
Technical Analysis:
Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling, geotechnical evaluations, and structural analysis to assess project feasibility and safety.
Project Management:
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, coordinating with teams and stakeholders.
Client Interaction:
Engage with clients to understand project needs and provide updates throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure quality of engineering work through reviews and adherence to standards.
Mentorship:
Provide guidance to junior engineers and interns, supporting their professional development.
Research & Development:
Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes, applying this knowledge to projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
At least 8 years of relevant experience in dam and levee design and construction.
Understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, geotechnics, and structural engineering.
Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS).
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to various audiences.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a team environment.
