News Corp is looking for someone to lead the cyber security engineering team. This group builds custom software used to secure the enterprise and integrates commercial products as needed to enable the cyber security function. The ideal candidate has a good mix of engineering process and communication skills.This position will report directly to the Head of Cloud Security at NewsCorp.Location: Princeton, New JerseyHybrid Role – 3 days in officeDuties & Responsibilities
Build out and manage a high-performance team of fully remote software engineers.Keep your team happy, motivated, and successful.Develop and implement innovative processes, strategies, and best practices to maximize team morale and productivity.Conduct code reviews and ensure developers adhere to team best practices and processes.Develop technical requirements and documentation.Determine and track key engineering metrics.Drive a DevOps model that sees your team responsible for the daily operations and costs of the tools they develop.Collaborate heavily with Cyber Security leadership and Business Unit leadership.Oversee our Scrum-based SDLC process ensuring excellence throughout all phases of the lifecycle.Build robust software ensuring a firm commitment to test-driven development, peer reviews, and inline documentation.Enforce an Infrastructure as Code delivery model.Communications
Effective, clear communicator able to articulate across all levels of the organization.Serve as the security SME for product engineering teams.Team Development
Serve as the software development SME for the cyber security group.Encourage cross-training, skill development, and mentorship.Collaborate with the Cloud Security, Product Security, and Enterprise Security teams to identify needs that engineering can fill.Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience.5 to 7 years of software development experience.Experience with application design & architecture using modern design patterns.Experience with cloud technologies, focusing on AWS and GCP.Experience with Scrum, DevOps, and Test-Driven Development.Ability to communicate complicated technical issues and risks to engineers, project managers, and product managers.Job Category:Pay Range: 145,000 – 175,000We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
