Job Title:Director - INIM Computational Biology Laboratory/Faculty (Rank TBD) - Computational Biology - 991457

Essential Job Functions:

Participates in collaborative research, including the Institute for Neuro Immune Medicine, and scholarships that include publishing and presenting at professional conferences.

Trains students and supervises research.

Initiates grant submissions and collaborates with the appropriate personnel.

Directs the Institute for Neuro Immune Medicine computational biology laboratory, overseeing all aspects of the computational biology program.

Provides scientific leadership to the faculty and staff of the computational program as well as the interdisciplinary team at INIM.

Provides expert consultation to the integrated research program at the Institute for Neuro Immune Medicine and the broader university community.

Supervises the computational biology staff which includes mentoring, annual reviews, and all other aspects of staff oversight.

Provides quarterly reports to the colleges involved in INIM for the quarterly board of trustee review, and the more extensive annual report to the board of trustees and the institute director.

Maintains digital measures in an up-to-date fashion both personally, and mentoring junior faculty to do so.

Assists in the application process for grants manuscript preparation and other scientific writing.

Participates in university and college-wide activities, such as interdisciplinary research meetings, faculty meetings, committee meetings, assessment of student learning outcomes, etc.

Teaches courses in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education:Doctoral Degree

Required Experience:

Faculty experience.

Strong record of research activity, including record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Qualifications:Serviced as PI on grant submissions.
