NSU cares about the health and welfare of its students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors and is a tobacco-free university.NSU considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, genetic information, disability, political affiliation or belief, national origin, marital or veteran status or any other legally protected status.Essential Job Functions:Teaches core courses in the classroom and training laboratory as assigned.Selects and implements teaching and evaluation strategies appropriate to the students and setting.Generates and implements lectures and laboratory sessions schedule in compliance with the course credits assigned and the space/professor-student ratio for the laboratory, as relevant.Teaches some of the MHS online courses specialized for Vascular Sonography students as assigned by the program director.Creates and maintains in cooperation with the students and faculty, a climate conducive to teaching and learning.Provides and maintains a reliable schedule of office hours for student advising, tutoring, remediation, and consultation.Displays behavior consistent with professional ethics.Maintains professional credentials in the field of vascular sonography.Participates in activities with national ultrasound societies which promote education and/or career development.Engages in curriculum development related to current and new courses to reflect changes in the field of vascular sonography, clinical practice, patient care, research, and measurement of teaching outcomes.Maintains a personal professional development plan, which may include research or other creative activities, to assure growth within the academic and professional field.Participates in department, college-wide, and university-wide committees and meetings.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the University's policies and applicable laws.Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.Ability to effectively present information to students, public groups, or professional organizations in the English language.Ability to work with appropriate mathematical concepts specific to the particular discipline.Ability to apply concepts to practical situations.Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).Ability to focus on tasks required in a timely fashion.Ability to remain flexible to accommodate unexpected changes of schedule or extra activities.Job Requirements:Required Certifications/Licensures:
Must be a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree.Required Experience:Candidate must be registered in Vascular Sonography (through ARDMS, CCI, and/or ARRT).Minimum one (1) year of clinical experience.Must obtain a Master's Degree in Education, Sciences, or other related area of specialization within five (5) years of employment.Is this a safety sensitive position?
