Director of Clinical Operations Role:
We have openings for our Associate Director & Director positions due to our continued success and expansion. As we grow geographically and transition to a more regional, multi-state model, we are expanding our leadership team to ensure strong oversight and support for our Clinical Research Sites. This new position will play a critical role in managing the increasing complexity of our operations while driving future growth.
Director of Clinical Operations Main Objectiv e:
The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for hiring, training, and developing managers to independently oversee Clinical Research Sites. Additionally, they are tasked with preparing their managerial team to take on future roles and responsibilities that align with the organization's regional growth and expansion.
You will supervise 8-12 individual Clinical Research Sites across 3-5 states, with 5-8 direct reports (managers) and up to 35-40 indirect reports. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and fostering 8-12 physician client relationships
Key areas of responsibility:
Hiring, Training, and Development of Managers
Hires, onboards, trains, and provides ongoing education and development for direct reports.
Builds a team of managers capable of solving operational issues at individual sites.
Responsible for all aspects of developing high-performing teams, including hiring, training, coaching, and mentoring managers to improve their current performance and prepare them for future opportunities. This is a key people management and development role!
Performance Review and Assessment:
Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with all managers under your supervision to provide feedback on their performance and identify coaching/training needs in key areas, including:
Quality Assurance
Financial Oversight
Patient and Physician Schedule Optimization
Sales and Revenue Generation
Operations
Active regional travel (across multiple states) to sites under your management, as this is a hands-on leadership role.
Responsible for optimizing existing site operations while developing region-specific growth plans aligned with the overall company strategy.
Leverages KPIs and other data to assess performance and implement quick adjustments to drive operational improvements.
Business Development
Collaborate with our Business Development team to effectively market your sites and physicians for new clinical trial opportunities that align with their capabilities.
Additionally, work to broaden and strengthen existing pharmaceutical client relationships.
Client Management
Responsible for the strategic management and development of physician relationships at each site.
This role involves aligning financial opportunities with operational adjustments to optimize site performance and developing long-term plans to expand physician research partnerships.
Growth and Expansion
Provide strategic guidance on new site selection.
Engage new sites within the network to foster collaboration and growth.
Manage resource utilization to drive efficiency in short-term execution and long-term planning, supporting clinical trial execution and future growth.

Skills needed to win:
Required : 8 years of progressive, demonstrable people management experience inclusive of having both direct
and
indirect reports.
Required : The role involves frequent multi state travel and overnight stays as necessary based on operational needs across various locations, which varies but on average is 50%. Weekend travel is extremely limited but occasionally possible.
Required : Possess a background in healthcare/clinical operations
Required : Experience managing Goals and Key Performance Indicators
Preferred : 6 years of physician management or transferable experience
Preferred : 6 years of financial management experience over multiple sites/facilities
This is an onsite position. No remote or hybrid seeking applicants please.
Clinical Research Industry experience is not required.
