Grant Thornton is seeking a Quality Monitoring and Remediation Director to join our team in Denver, Colorado.The Director, Quality Monitoring and Remediation (QMR) will work with key stakeholders across the firm to validate our understanding of our Audit & Assurance System of Quality Management (SoQM). This individual will supervise and provide an independent perspective on risks to our SoQM and consider evolving response needs. The Director will perform investigative analyses of various quality events to assist with performing root cause and monitoring remedial actions to enhance the Firm’s SoQM.Your Day to Day will Include:Establish relationships with key stakeholders across the firm to understand quality risks, processes, and responses (firm policies and procedures) to ensure these are appropriately documented and tested.Provide training and supervision of less experienced colleagues providing consistent, regular feedback.Develop, lead and review the execution of monitoring plans to ensure documentation is appropriate.Serve as a point of contact for a variety of System of Quality Management areas to aid in testing and issue management.Assist in developing and presenting reports to various stakeholders regarding results and suggested improvements.Escalate matters to the Partner-In-Charge, QMR or other relevant parties on known gaps or issues.Collaborate with other participants from within the GT Global Network on quality related matters.Liase with project managers on firm initiatives to ensure emerging risks are identified and the mitigation of quality risks is maintained.Support the firm’s implementation of QC 1000, the PCAOB quality control standard.Other duties as assigned.Maintain active communication with process/response owners to manage expectations, complete testing, and monitor remediation efforts.Consult and work with response/process owners to perform root cause analysis, develop recommendations on business/process improvements and serve as a risk and controls advisor.Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality regarding sensitive matters.Lead the development of training materials and a centralized resource center of established and approved content to support the QMR Testing Program.Skills and Experience:Current or prior external or internal audit, business risk or IT (Information Technology) controls experience.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, coordinate, and complete multiple tasks.Detail oriented and deadline-focused.Team oriented and strong work ethic.Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously at times, involving team members and escalating issues as needed.Strong relationship building skills.A focus on strong client service and responsiveness.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.A minimum of 7+ years of progressive audit or advisory experience in medium to large public accounting firm or equivalent.Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), preferred.Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards), ISQM 1 and PCAOB (Public Company Accounting Oversight Board) rules and standards.Proficient in Microsoft Office and Productivity Applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project, and SharePoint).Experience using other tools such as Smartsheet or Power BI, desired.About Us:At Grant Thornton, we believe in making business more personal and building trust into every result – for our clients and you.
