Performs systems analysis and coordinates the development of systems and/or applications of a specified function or area within a department. This position works with multiple vendors managing multi-million-dollar card procurements and forecasting of fare media fulfilling order requests and supports the testing of regionally deployed fare collection hardware and software.Researches functional areas to determine information systems needsPerforms requirements analyses, feasibility studies, and prepares project proposals for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of an information system specific to assigned departmentDesigns technical systems specificationsProvides input to consultants regarding systems needs and acceptability of alternativesEvaluates systems to ensure that requirements are properly satisfiedVerifies vendor compliance with contract and work planMonitors systems performance and responds to systems emergenciesTroubleshoots, analyzes, and resolves system problemsPrepares cost/benefit analysis reports for information processing systems and develops associated justifications for the acquisition of systems products and servicesPrepares reports, systems training manuals, and technical systems documentationCreates and modifies microcomputer programsDevelops advanced microcomputer analytical models and report programs using specified software packagesDesigns advanced decision support tools and models used for decision makingParticipates in department information security, disaster recovery, and safety programsParticipates in evaluation and awards of contracts to information systems vendorsOversees, trains, and motivates assigned staffContributes to ensuring that the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and programs of Metro are carried out.May be required to perform other related job duties.Minimum QualificationsA combination of education and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Three years of relevant experience performing systems analysis or computer programming work; some positions in this class may require specialized experience in area of assignmentCertifications/Licenses/Special Requirements:
