General Manager

We are seeking a highly competent and experienced General Manager to oversee our plastic injection molding operations at our North Detroit Metro, MI location. In this pivotal role, the General Manager has the responsibility of managing the manufacturing operations and support departments to significantly enhance productivity, quality, and safety, ensuring comprehensive customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in maintaining rigorous housekeeping standards, driving plant activities towards significant customer awards and certifications such as QS-9000, and leading continuous improvement efforts across all operational facets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform administrative and functional management of all operation elements.

Drive plant activities toward achieving prestigious customer awards and certifications (QS-9000).

Interface with customers and suppliers as required.

Monitor and drive continuous improvement activities in all departments.

Maintain exemplary standards of housekeeping throughout the facility.

Provide strategic direction and leadership aligned with the plant's business plan objectives.

Identify and monitor KPIs to support the achievement of business plan goals.

Manage process technology to sustain a competitive market advantage.

Demonstrate leadership in meeting or exceeding customer expectations in all areas.

Manage the overall business plan, amending objectives as required.

Ensure compliance with all internal and OSHA safety standards.

Determine training needs and reassess existing training programs to ensure maximum effectiveness.

Uphold high-performance standards by strongly adhering to company policies and procedures.

Direct accountability for the financial performance of the plant.

Provide comprehensive support for corporate activities including A3P, quoting, costing, and development of procedures.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

10 to 15 years of experience managing plastic injection molding operations.

Business or Engineering degree, or equivalent, with ten years of related or supervisory experience.

Proven manufacturing background, with a preference for experience in plastics.

Capable of identifying complex problems and developing, evaluating, and implementing solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Business or Engineering.

Prior experience specifically in high-volume plastic injection molding.

Strong record of achieving and maintaining industry certifications and standards.

Experience in strategic project management and lean manufacturing practices.

Expertise in modern manufacturing technologies and efficiency enhancements.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to manage and improve financial outcomes.

Adept at planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
