The Role at a glance:The Vice President of Procurement leads the development and execution of a comprehensive procurement strategy across the organization. This role is critical in ensuring that the company's procurement operations support growth, profitability, and market competitiveness while adhering to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and sustainability. The VP of Procurement will take a proactive role in supplier partnerships, risk mitigation, and cost optimization, driving strategic initiatives that directly impact the organization’s success.
What you'll be doing:
Develop, lead, and continuously refine a procurement strategy that aligns with the organization’s growth objectives and sustainability commitments.
Drive large-scale cost optimization initiatives without compromising product quality, regulatory compliance, or supplier relationships.
Foster innovation in procurement by leveraging emerging technologies, market trends, and industry best practices.
Oversee the management of key global and domestic supplier relationships, ensuring that all partnerships drive value and innovation.
Lead negotiations for high-value contracts, ensuring the company secures favorable terms in alignment with risk management and cost objectives.
Establish and maintain high-level supplier performance metrics, conducting regular strategic reviews to ensure continuous improvement.
Implement world-class procurement processes that streamline operations, increase efficiency, and reduce operational risk.
Ensure best-in-class procurement practices, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and just-in-time delivery systems.
Collaborate with Operations, R&D, Finance, and other departments to forecast procurement needs and ensure that the supply chain supports operational and product development objectives.
Develop and execute risk management strategies to mitigate potential supply chain disruptions, cost volatility, and compliance issues.
Ensure full compliance with all local, national, and international regulations related to food safety, labor practices, and environmental impact.
What we're looking for:Must-haves:
12+ years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles.
Proven track record of leading large-scale procurement transformations and cost-saving initiatives.
Experience working in complex, high-volume supply chains, with expertise in sustainability and regulatory compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM).
Nice-to-haves:
Experience within food service, manufacturing, or consumer goods industries.
MBA or Advanced Degree.
Where you'll be working:This role is in office 4 days of the week in our Houston headquarters at 4920 Westway Park Blvd. Houston, TX 77041.
