Founded in 1962, the school is a multicultural, multilingual educational institution with over 1,100 students across an urban campus in the heart of the city.Position Overview:The Extended Care Program Monitor will work directly with a group of 30+ students grade K to 5 to design, coordinate and deliver our school’s after-school program. The Extended Care Program provides a safe, fun and caring environment for our students and acts as an extension of the school day.Schedule:The position available during the school year is for approximately 30 hours per week.

Lunch: 11:00 - 1:00Recesses: 1:30p - 2:30pAfter-school: 3:00 - 6:00

The monitor will be working full time during our week-long school breaks:

October 7th – 11thFebruary 17th – 21stApril 4th – 11th

Key responsibilities:Active supervision of children indoor and outdoorPlan activities (sports, arts and crafts…) with co-workersCommunication with parents and staffOversee schedules, arrival/dismissal of studentsResolve any conflicts by implementing social emotional learningSet up, take down and clean up to ensure overall cleanliness of spaceQualifications:Enthusiastic, fast learner, proactiveTeam-worker with strong communication skillsExperience working and developing age-appropriate activities with children ages 5-10 preferred but not requiredFluency in French is a plus but not requiredEligible to work in the USWe offer $25/hr and a dynamic work environment.Live scan background and TB clearance required.
