For 50 years Bayaud Enterprises has been an innovator in the community in reducing hurdles for individuals to engage in the workforce and attain self-reliance. We do this through personalized Employment Services, Social Enterprises (Business Solutions) which provide employment for those needing supported employment, and Individual and Community Services like providing free laundry with the Laundry Truck and support in finding housing and accessing different resource programs through the help of our Navigators. Bayaud Enterprises partners with Denver Department of Housing Stability (HOST) to conduct outreach and recruitment for a job readiness program, Denver Day Works ("DDW"), for individuals and families experiencing homelessness that are not currently engaged in other community programs. The overall purpose of this program is to provide paid Day Work Experiences, support services and job readiness that may lead to employment in the community.Summary
This temporary position will oversee a Day Works work crew from mid-April to mid-November. The Field Lead position will oversee all job site activities and ensure that participant workers are trained appropriately for their site (i.e., personal safety, use of equipment, body mechanics, PPE, reporting of accidents/injuries, etc.). This position ensures that the logistics of the sites are managed (transportation, food, equipment), and keeps in close contact with the Program Manager, Case Managers and Employment Specialists for coordination. This position will shop for food and supplies needed, and prepare lunches as needed.Qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following:Develop a good rapport with your co-worker/participants and strive to understand their job barriers, caused, or exacerbated by personal experiences of poverty and homelessness.Provide mentorship, advocacy, and support to your co-worker and any participants while working side by side on the job.Maintain supply of needed items (trash bags, gloves, masks, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Notify Program Manager or designee of need to re-order in adequate time as to not disrupt service.Keep vehicle cleaned and sanitized daily and in good overall condition. Notify Program Manager of any maintenance or repair needs as they occur.Coordinate with Program Manager or designee to keep first aid kit in vehicle stocked and fire extinguisher inspection up to date.Listen to and encourage coworker/participants as they formulate and work toward their personal goals.Engage daily in executing comprehensive outreach plan to reach people experiencing homelessness.Establish and maintain positive relationships with business and City partners.Work cooperatively with the public.Other Duties and Responsibilities
include the following:Ability to communicate in the English language verbally, in writing, virtually and in person.Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.Provide excellent customer service to our participants, business partners, and City partners.Work with Business Acquisitions and Development Manager to discuss potential business partners, to expand our services in and around the current work areas.Other duties, as assigned.QualificationsExcellent communication skills in the English language (written and verbal), grammar, and reasoning skills. Understanding and following directions (written and verbal).Independent worker with little direct supervision, and able to work as part of a larger rehabilitation and employment focused team.Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information without breach.Knowledge of crisis intervention, trauma informed care, and mental health first aid, a plus.Knowledge of the rehabilitation process in relation to supported employment, a plus.Demonstrated experience providing support services to at least one of the target populations (individuals who have experienced homelessness, individuals with disabilities, individuals who have lived in poverty or been unemployed for long periods of time).Ability to observe, compare, or monitor data, objects, and people's behavior to determine compliance with prescribed safety and operating standards.Must have Sunday availability.Must have a driver's license, ability to operate a motor vehicle, and MVR acceptable to Bayaud's insurance company.Understanding of basic employment practices regarding keeping time, mileage, and documentation of work performed.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 2+ years' experience working with target populations; or college degree in relevant field with 1+ years' experience working with target population.Bilingual applicants encouraged.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsDriver's license and ability to be insured by Bayaud's insurance carrier.
