Mission Statement

As Ripon College, a private, residential liberal arts college, prepares for its 175th anniversary in 2026, they seek a Vice President for Enrollment with deep recruitment experience to lead a collaborative campus community to enrollment success. Reporting to President Victoria Folse, and joining an engaged senior leadership team known as the Administrative Council, the new Vice President will build on the foundation provided by the College’s long history of quality teaching and learning and bolstered by the momentum of a multi-prong, new thoughtful strategic plan.

A strong leader with a track record of enrollment success in their own career, the new Vice President will support and motivate the offices of admission and financial aid, overseeing a team of eleven as well as a newly expanded role in transfer admission. Supplying equal parts strategic vision and energetic, personal engagement in recruitment, admission and enrollment efforts, the Vice President will also provide oversight of student-centered financial aid efforts for new and continuing students.

The position Overall, the Vice President for Enrollment should be a leader, a thought partner, and fierce advocate for accountability. They must be able to lead their team, lead the way on enrollment discussions, and lead others through effective collaboration on the successful implementation of efforts to attract increasing numbers of new first year and transfer students annually. The new Vice President will:

Serve as a member of the Administrative Council reporting directly to President Folse and offer subject matter expertise on admission and financial aid matters.

Using historic internal and external metrics, initiate setting enrollment targets and goals for the College that reflect programmatic realities and opportunities for first year and transfer students.

Review and establish aggressive strategies regarding net revenue generation for new and continuing students.

With the director of financial aid, assure compliance of external policies regarding financial aid from the federal and state governments.

Establish an urgent, forward-thinking recruitment strategy to achieve success.

Support, equip and ignite staff toward the implementation of reaching and exceeding enrollment goals in existing and new markets, using data as the guide.

Offer professional development opportunities to admission and financial aid staff to ensure growth and well-being.

Work in close partnership with a caring and informed Board of Trustees and other senior staff.

Imaginatively capture and tell the story of the success of on the campus experience.

Experience and skills: The successful candidate must have earned a bachelor’s degree (an advanced degree is preferred); and at least eight years of enrollment related experience with progressive upward development. In addition, the candidate should have many of the following skills.

Experience in staff development and management.

Ability to serve as a “recruiter’s recruiter”, leading the way to connecting with students.

Knowledge of Slate and a keen understanding of how to connect with prospective students and families.

A track record of connection with important partners on campus and off campus.

A hunger for serving in a community where success is intertwined with a genuine interest in student growth and development.

An ability to knit together a team who will serve internally and externally as ambassadors for the College.

A knack for maximizing resources, studying data trends, and applying innovation to make a difference.
