About the RoleOur Digital Transformation Practice helps corporates, private equity firms and other constituencies build long term competitive advantage, accelerate revenue growth and drive investment valuations while optimizing cost. We bring together lean, fast-moving teams of expert technologists, digital specialists and data scientists to advise our clients on their digital transformation agendas and transaction needs.
We work with clients to understand the impact of rapidly evolving digital paradigms and emerging technologies on the future of their business, translating that into an executable strategy and blueprint that combines business model innovation, customer experience strategy, modern technology and data architectures with a rigorous focus on planning and execution. We assist clients on their high stakes transactions needs ranging from acquisition and divestment strategy to technology and digital due diligence, merger and acquisition (M&A) integration planning and carve outs.
What You’ll DoThe Senior Solutions Architect – IoT Platform Architectures candidate should have subject matter expertise in designing and implementing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, including end-to-end architectures, managing high volumes and velocity of data, and implementing robust security controls from cloud to edge. They should have a strong understanding of the relevant AWS and Azure IoT services suites, IoT hardware ecosystems, and their applicable use cases, best practices, implementation, and support considerations.
The candidate will be accountable for providing enterprise IoT architecture recommendations, including defining and documenting processes that solve a range of business issues from saving costs to growing revenue, or both. They must have knowledge and experience with a full range of commercial and industrial IoT solutions, with the ability to advise on suitable protocols and architectures based on client requirements, including both low and high-mobility use cases, low-latency transmission, edge compute, streaming data, and related engineering best practices.
The candidate should have the ability to create rich and scalable architectural designs and develop connected commercial and industrial solutions in a variety of industries, tailoring communications to effectively fit and influence the targeted audience. This includes communicating architecture vision, technical strategies, and trade-offs across various levels in the organization to gain buy-in from stakeholders. The candidate must have demonstrated success in developing IoT architecture strategies and be able to make short-term recommendations in the context of a long-term technology direction. They should have a passion for continually researching current and emerging technologies and understanding how the elements fit together.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems or related field
6+ years of post-graduate experience
Ability to travel to clients and to FTI offices as needed
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of experience in IoT design, deployment, support, and management of large, complex systems
Experience in a consulting environment
Proven experience in IoT solution engineering and enterprise data architectures
An Internet of Things Foundation Certification from CCC, or an equivalent credential
Data engineering experience – including streaming, NoSQL, EDW, ETL/ELT, BI Analytics
Experience building and deploying solutions integrating with IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments
Understanding of industry standard system architecture and system management concepts and tools
