Corporate Affairs DepartmentThe Corporate Affairs department at Blackstone plays a critical role in shaping and guiding the firm's communication strategies, both within the organization and externally. Key areas that comprise the department: Public Affairs, Marketing, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.Blackstone is seeking an experienced corporate communications professional to lead Blackstone Real Estate’s communications activity across the Americas, including its investments in asset classes such as logistics, rental housing, data centers, and hospitality. The person will join the New York-based Public Affairs team, which is focused on strengthening and protecting the Blackstone brand and managing transaction-related communications. The team is responsible for the firm’s external messaging and reputation and coordination across Blackstone Real Estate’s portfolio companies.Specific responsibilities include:Working closely with deal professionals on transaction communications as well as asset management teams on various portfolio matters.Drafting and coordinating press releases, media campaigns, talking points, and thought leadership initiatives.Helping manage communications relationships and coordination with portfolio companies.Managing multi-faceted projects.Interacting directly with the press, including proactive media outreach and reactive story management.Managing press events, including staffing interviews with senior leaders.Qualifications:This person should have strong judgement, storytelling and messaging skills and be confident working autonomously and collaboratively:12+ years of relevant experience, some in the financial communications industry preferred, deal experience a plus.Experience developing and managing media relations for PR agency, corporate or government roles.Strong oral and written communications skills.Highly organized self-starter with the ability to work independently.Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently navigate competing deadlines.Proactive and hands-on; thrives in a dynamic environment.Experience managing reputational risk and advising on strategy.Must possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to collaborate effectively with senior level employees and outside contacts.The duties and responsibilities described here are not exhaustive and additional assignments, duties, or responsibilities may be required of this position. $185,000 - $250,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location.
