Preference will be given to an anthropologist with research interests in forensics, primatology, and/or human evolution who will advance our departmental commitment to a robust four-field approach and interdisciplinarity. Geographical, theoretical, and research specialty areas are open and may include skeletal biology, evolutionary biology, DNA analysis, functional morphology, mass disaster identification, and human rights investigation. The successful applicant will have an established record of original research, funding, teaching, and publication, with a clear framework for continued progress in these areas. The candidate should demonstrate how undergraduate and graduate students would be engaged in those efforts. A Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field must be in-hand by the position’s start date.Responsibilities:
Teaching duties include two courses per semester at the introductory, advanced undergraduate, and graduate levels. The candidate will develop additional classes, perform undergraduate and graduate advising, and supervise graduate and undergraduate student research. The ideal candidate will commit to teaching a field school and contribute to the development of our undergraduate and graduate curricula.Other duties include departmental and university-level service on committees, working groups, etc., as directed by the Chair.
