Purpose of RoleThis role will be part of Claire’s Transformation Office, known as the Value Creation Office. This role will oversee the design, development, measurement, and ongoing operations of retail store tests. The ideal candidate has both strong analytical acumen, problem-solving abilities, and deep knowledge of the Retail sector. The Executive Director will manage a cross-functional team to determine the right store concepts to test, in order to deliver the most value to the company. They will lead the design and development of the tests, and the ongoing operations of the test, deriving insights through measurement and analysis. They will then scale successful tests across the full chain of stores. They will lead a team, manage a wide working group of cross-functional stakeholders, and frequently engage executive stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
Test Design and Execution:
Concept store tests - identify gaps and opportunities by triaging insights across functions and knowledge of the business, ideate potential tests, validate concepts with the executive leadership team and cross-functional partners.
Develop and execute detailed test plans, iterating designs based on feedback and leading quantitative and qualitative analysis for improvement and learnings.
Provide overall strategic direction and guidance to working team, focusing on what will drive the most material impact to the business and most align to the overall strategy.
Measurement and Reporting:
Guide measurement / data science resources in identifying meaningful metrics and scoping measurement parameters.
Conceptually design dashboards and reporting.
Distill down key insights and communicate effectively across a wide range of stakeholders, including senior executives.
Ensure team moves at pace.
Document learnings and translate into clear actions / recommendations for the business.
Ongoing Operations:
Effectively manage the cross-functional team and broader partners throughout the organization to drive rapid execution.
Requires ability to deep dive into a range of topics, with attention to detail and quality assurance.
Ensure execution timelines are met.
Scaling Impact:
Build strong partnerships across the organization, required to ensure that insights and recommendations from the cross-functional team are scaled effectively.
Design in-depth implementation plans, identify and onboard owners, and manage handoffs.
Capability Building:
Continue to upskill organization on how to effectively create and deploy tests, acting as a “best in class” resource for groups seeking test support.
Manage team and develop skillsets, including scoping role progression and managing performance reviews.
Education and/or CertificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Essential Criteria
15 years progressive work experience.
10+ years of Retail Operational/Functional Experience and/or Consumer Products.
5+ years of Managing a Team.
Must have extensive knowledge of retail or CPG related functions.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Sense of urgency with ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Possess collaborative skills and ability to work with and influence at all levels of individuals within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to present their point of view in varied business situations.
Analytical Skills with the ability to convert data into actionable business objectives.
Microsoft Office proficiency required.
Compensation Range:
$177,840.00 - $254,800.00
Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
