Overview:Highly Likely Highland Park is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and dedicated Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our team. We are a casual counter-service cafe by day and full-service neighborhood joint by night serving a chef-driven menu, excellent coffee, natural wine, and craft cocktails. The AGM will support the General Manager in overseeing both aspects of the business, ensuring smooth, efficient operations, exceptional customer service, and a seamless transition between day and night.

Key Responsibilities:1. Operations Management:

Ensure efficient and timely service during the busy daytime coffee shop hours and our dinner service.

Oversee opening and closing procedures as necessary, including inventory management and staff scheduling.

Maintain and enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations.

Maintain a tidy and organized work environment

2. Staff Leadership and Training:

Lead, train, and mentor the team, fostering a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.

Supervise baristas and servers to ensure quality service during both daytime and nighttime shifts.

3. Customer Service Excellence:

Lead by example to foster an environment of the high-level hospitality

Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally and efficiently, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Work closely with the General Manager and chef to maintain the restaurant's high standards for food and beverage quality.

4. Financial and Inventory Management:

Assist in managing the financial aspects of the business, including monitoring sales, managing expenses, and meeting profit targets.

Support inventory control processes, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining stock levels for both food and beverage.

Assist in budgeting and forecasting for both coffee shop and restaurant operations.

Qualifications:

Experience:

2+ years of management - experience in both fast-paced coffee shop/café environments and fine dining restaurants is a plus!

Communication:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, staff, and upper management.

Time Management:

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a dual-service environment.

Flexibility:

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
