TITLE: Director, Associate Director, Early Care & Education Programs

Schedule : Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week.Occasional weekends or evenings.
Primary Duties:
Responsible for the administration of developmentally-appropriate, high quality community-based full-inclusion Child Care Center programs. Ensure that all center-based regulations are adhered to. Focus on Community Care Licensing compliance, funding terms and operations compliance, business operations, pedagogy of centers, staff development, program quality enhancement, and liaison with partner agencies.

Assists Senior Leadership with planning, vision, and fund development as related to strategic planning, direction, and new projects of the Child Development Centers.
Oversee the business operations of the center-based programs.
Oversee and implement a high-quality pedagogy program for the center-based programs.
Ensures that the physical facilities are safe, clean, attractive and in compliance with all health, fire, and safety codes, licensing regulations, and contractual agreements.
Ensures that curriculum is implemented according to “Best Practices” in Child Development, current field practices, and in accordance with the Early Education and Support Division of the California Department of Education requirements.
Ensures that ongoing developmental assessments, screenings, and family needs assessments are conducted according to required practice.
Ensures the care, safety and well-being of all children at the center.
Ensures the maintenance of staff and children’s files in compliance with PATHWAYS personnel policy, Community Care Licensing requirements, and any other contractual agreements.
Ensures compliance with established procedures, including accident reports, reporting child abuse, and emergency management.
Conducts and leads regular staff meetings. Exhibits responsible participation in all PATHWAYS LA meetings including trainings and management meetings.
Works with senior leadership to prepare annual budget and required monthly reports. Ensures program meets budget goals for staffing and operational expenses.
Serves as agency liaison with community organizations, partner agencies, and funders.
Seek out, develop, and maintain relationships with key contractors, community partners, potential funders and sponsors that can enhance center-based services, agency visibility, and leverage creative opportunities.
Engage in continuing education for personal and professional growth evidenced by taking classes, attending workshops or conferences at least three times per year.
Meet all administrative deadlines and standards for completion of departmental documentation including time sheets, attendance reports, mileage reports, petty cash receipts and check requests, and other reports or invoices as may be required.
Conduct staff training, verify required course work, and promote and encourage continuing education staff training in Early Intervention, parent education, full inclusion, child development and curriculum.
Implement established anti-bias curriculum.
Interact with parents in an appropriate and professional manner. Provide opportunities for family engagement, and implement methods to receive and address feedback and input.
Requirements:Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Child Development, Early Care and Education, required, Master’s Degree preferred.Must have minimum of 24 units in child development; at least 3 units in infant development, 3 units in child care administration +16 General Education units.Must possess pediatric CPR and first aid certification.Must have TB clearance and required Community Care Licensing vaccinations.Must provide or be able to obtain a cleared health screening report.Minimum five years’ experience working with children ages 0-5 in a licensed classroom setting required.Experience working with children with special needs preferred.Minimum of five years of experience in Early Childhood Education program management and staff supervision including design and implementation of developmentally appropriate environments and curriculum for infants and toddlers with special needs and provision of parent support and education.Must possess experience and knowledge of conducting developmental assessments and developmental screenings. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate teaching practices.Demonstrated knowledge of family services, child care, and early education, services for low-income/vulnerable populations or related content areas, preferred.Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
