POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer (CPO), the Director of Family and Child Care Provider Services is responsible for developing, leading and managing all functions and activities of parent, child care provider and community services programs. The director will identify, leverage, develop and implement new program opportunities. The ideal candidate has a mission-driven approach and will apply change, risk and resource management principles as needed.

Tobe successful, you should have:

Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, related human services field, or Public Administration from four-year college or university. Course work in administration, advocacy and communications strongly preferred.At least five years of experience leading management teams in a direct supervisorial role.At least five years of administrative experience.At least three years of experience in a professional capacity in Early Childhood Education programs or related field (highly) preferred.Experience with government funding sources, preferred.Established relationships with community and industry professionals is preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills required.Problem solving and critical thinking skills, solutions oriented.Knowledgeable and experienced with data analysis, reporting, and budgeting. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Business acumen with strategic abilities.Ability to work effectively with people from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds.High proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), client database software and Internet search engines.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid California driver’s license, have use of a motor vehicle and provide evidence of automobile liability insurance.The position requires some travel and evening and weekend work.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer. Your key responsibilities as the Director of Family and Child Care Provider Services will include:

ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP

Lead a management team of five to seven (5-7), by providing leadership, and mentorship that aligns with the core values of the agency.Participate as an active, open, and visible member of the leadership team, promoting effective collaboration across all departments and a positive work experience for all staff.Prioritize efforts to operationalize the strategic plan through collaboration with the CPO and Leadership Team.Provide leadership on agency-wide initiatives, including regular assessments of future opportunities and challenges.Initiate and set goals for programs based on the organization’s strategic plan and initiatives.Devise evaluation strategies to monitor program performance, effectiveness and determine the need for improvements.

OTHER DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate responsibly as a member of the senior management team.Ensure Agency compliance with legal, contractual, funder and internal policy requirements.Develop, manage and monitor program policies and procedures.Participate in budget development and tracking for assigned programs.Develop, manage and monitor criteria for program sustainability.Manage and monitor the development and dissemination of information about programs to clients and the public.Keep Executive Management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations.Select, train, supervise and evaluate direct reports. Oversee the selection, training, supervision and evaluation of program staff.Build a strong team through open communication, appropriate delegation of duties, and by collaborating on decision making responsibilities.In collaboration with Senior Management, identify opportunities to fund innovative services, address unmet needs, and implement best and promising practices.Assist with and participate in fund development activities, including preparation of grant proposals, development of marketing materials, and fund development events and activities.Represent the Agency in the community at large, and in collaborations with community partners.Identify, assess and participate in community and partnership meetings and events to maximize Agency representation and leveraging of opportunities.Assist Chief Programs Officer, as needed.Identify, assess and participate in training and educational activities to enhance professional growth.
