SCHEDULE:
3-5 days per week following school calendar
SALARY:
$350-385 per day
SUMMARY:
Kenowa Hills Pathways High School (KHPHS) provides a highly customized, personalized, and future-focused high school experience to every learner. The mission of KHPHS is to equip graduates with a high level of college or career readiness. Through community partnerships, school-to-business relationships, and highly personalized curriculum pathways, all KHPHS graduates will possess an Educational Development Plan (EDP) that demonstrates competencies for the next step to college or career.
KHPHS staff members are intentional in their role as a facilitator of learning for the Michigan Merit Curriculum. Staff members also support students in their career exploration, EDP development, job site visits, shadowing, and internships. Staff members must be highly aware of students’ future goals and aspirations and design learning experiences to support post-graduation next steps for college or career.
The principal provides leadership, coordination, supervision, and support for our 100 student hybrid learning program. They lead the learning of diverse learners, creating a safe for all learners, hybrid and online learning, and student mental wellness.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Valid Michigan teaching certificate required.
Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience at the secondary level strongly preferred.
Graduate degree in a relevant field of study strongly preferred
Administration Certificate required.
Educational leadership experience(s) required. Candidates lacking previous administrative position(s) should be able to cite highly successful leadership roles (such as a department, grade level, or school improvement chair positions).
Ability to effectively implement blended/hybrid/online learning models.
Demonstrates a high level of technology skills.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities.
Knowledge of skills and abilities related to diversity, equity, and cultural competencies required.
Knowledge of own competence in the area of diversity and equity, how this influences own behavior and a desire to learn about others identities.
Experience and understanding of proficiency-based educational systems preferred.
Must have demonstrated leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents/guardians.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create the conditions for a safe and positive, learner-centered environment in which learning is of prime importance.
Implement strategies to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of all students, including marginalized and underserved populations.
Provide oversight, responsibility, and day-to-day leadership and supervision for all aspects of Pathways High School.
Provide leadership and coordination of the school’s academic program in
collaboration with staff.
Implement the comprehensive school improvement plan in accordance with the District’s goals and objectives.
Ensure frequent and effective communication to Pathways High School stakeholders.
Systematically seek and utilize feedback from students, staff, parents, district administrators, and community partners.
Assume administrative responsibility for all compliance reporting.
Implement Board rules and district policies and procedures.
Attend all meetings as required by the superintendent or designee.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the superintendent or designee.
