THE SEARCH

Long Island University (LIU) is searching for an inspirational leader to serve as Dean of the College of Science (COS) across the Post and Brooklyn Campuses. The Dean will provide leadership to achieve the bold ONE LIU vision and connect the College of Science to LIU’s five research priorities: One Health, Innovative Cures, Data Analytics/AI, Resilient Communities, and the Future of Business. COS is committed to preparing students for leadership in science and related fields through innovative education and research experiences.

The Dean will have primary responsibility for education, research, administration, student affairs, budget, and external relations with the College’s constituencies. The Dean’s primary responsibilities will include:

Developing and building new, integrated research, education, and innovation platforms.

Recruiting new research faculty to grow the research enterprise.

Stimulating research-based global partnerships and increasing research funding.

Increasing enrollment through domestic and international partnerships.

Working on fundraising, development, assessment, and improvement of all academic programs.

The successful candidate will be an inspirational leader with demonstrated leadership in education, research, or practice, substantial administrative experience, and strong scholarly visibility within the academic community. The target salary for this role is $350,000-400,000K, commensurate with experience.
